Go Live Punchlist

Below is a streamlined list of task that need to be completed for your website to go live.  The list is divided into two sections:

  • Pre-Work - A pre-work section of tasks to be completed to prepare to work with a technician from hpCommerce Software.
  • Work Session - The second section is a list of tasks that will be completed in one work session with a technician from hpCommerce Software.

Once the Work Session is completed your website will be ready to put into production as soon as you approve it to be launched.

Images for "Slide Show" widget
Grand Prix Auto
On your website design you have specified a slide show that appears at the top of your site.  Currently there is just one "slide".  You can specify as many slides as you want.  Ideal image size is to have all of your images exactly the same size.  The current slide is 1440 x 556 pixels and of resolution 96 dpi and of type JPG.  You can design these images yourself or you can work with Emily to produce these images.

These images will be used in the "Work Session" to update the Slide Show widget.

Domain registration
Grand Prix Auto
Procuring your domain and maintaining the domain registration is your responsibility.  You will receive annual notification from your domain registrar that your domain registration fees are due.  These are your responsibility to maintain.

Once your website is ready to be made "live" you will temporarily delegate access to Yellow Hat Web to maintain your domain settings.  The purpose of this is to "point" your domain to your new website.  This will be done by you sending an invitation to setup@yellowhatweb.com for Yellow Hat Web to be able to temporarily work with your domain at wherever your domain is registered.  An example of how this is done if your domain is registered at GoDaddy can be found HERE.  In many cases this is called "delegation".

Text for Site Content pages
Grand Prix Auto
There are seven (7) site content pages that must be completed before the website can go live.  These pages have links on your website and are required by payment processing gateways.  In the seven rows below we detail what each of these pages are and give you examples for you to review.  Here is what you need to do to complete each of these tasks:

  • Prepare the text for each of these "pages".  You can prepare and store the text in Microsoft Word or simply in Microsoft Notepad or Microsoft WordPad.  Regardless of what you use you will need the text stored electronically.
  • If you wish to include any images on these pages please collect these images and have them organized by page.
  • If you would like to work with Emily to design the look of these pages and for help with any images please contact her for assistance.

Shipping Credentials
Grand Prix Auto
Your website can quote shipping rates for UPS, FedEx and USPS.  It does that by using accounts that you establish with each of these companies. You must set up at least one of these companies on your website and you can have all three if you wish.  To prepare for the "Work Session" you will need to do the following:

  • For UPS and FedEx you must have an online account set up with these companies if you chose to use either one of them.  You will need to know your username and password to log into these sites for the account that you do your shipping under.

Payment Processing
Grand Prix Auto
You will need one or other or both of the following.  But you must have at least one:

  • Xcharge merchant processing account.
  • PayPal Merchant account.
On your website you will be able to set up one of these or both of these for your shoppers to use.

Email
Grand Prix Auto
Yellow Hat Web does not provide email hosting services.  Your website will use whatever email service provider you have to send notifications to your shoppers, such as order acknowledgements, and will also send you copies of any emails too, using whatever email account you provide.

Work Session

Once all of the tasks in the "Pre-Work" section are completed contact hpCommerce Software to schedule a Work Session.  Please allow up to two hours for this session.  The goal should be to complete all of the Work Session tasks below in one work session.
